Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I started this post a little bit before Thanksgiving. Every time I thought of something I was thankful for I wrote it down. Some are silly and some are the most important things in my life.

1. Gabrielle-She is my miracle baby and my life saver! I love you baby girl!

2. Jared-My wonderful husband. I know that we are truly soul mates…because no one else could handle either one of us. 🙂

3. Family-I have a wonderful family that is there for me and I can count on no matter what…especially for babysitting lately. 🙂

4. Health- Alive and cancer free!!! WHOO!!

5. Smoked Turkey-I seriously look forward to this all year. My dad smokes the best turkey ever!

6. Car- I love my car. I mean seriously love it!

7. Friends- I have some great girlfriends. I love hanging out with them. (Only 10 more days, girls!)

8. Job- Even though I haven’t been there in 2 months, I will say I miss it. Although I NEVER want to leave Elle, I do miss all my kiddos at school!

9. Domino-He is a wonderful puppy dog. He makes me smile probably 50 times a day. 🙂

10. Gabrielle’s Firsts- I love being able to see her everyday and see how much she changes. Seeing all her “firsts.” Yay, for 1st Thanksgiving!

There are a million more that I can list. But, just sitting down thinking about what I am thankful for has really made me happy, and has made me again realize what a great life I have. Thank you God for all the things in my life. I must be the luckiest girl in the world! What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?!?

Psalm 75:1 We give thanks to you, O God, we give thanks, for your Name is near;  men tell of your wonderful deeds.

Are you ready to Relay?!?

Team BraveHart is now officially up for kicking cancer’s butt! That’s right, my friends, family, and myself are participating in Relay for Life, June 25th, at East Alton-Wood River High School. Until then, we are on a mission to raise as much money as we can! I am sure that like me, you know someone, who’s life has been affected by cancer! Please help us defeat this ugly disease! Here is my personal webpage. Any help at all, is extremely helpful! I thank you in advance for your help!!!

Back off!

I went to the grocery store today (I had to get my $10 off at SNS before Thanksgiving!!). I went in there to get a few things so I can make my deviled eggs and scalloped corn. Anyway, I went to go check out, and Gabrielle was in her carseat on my cart. I was at the side of the cart putting things on the conveyor belt. As I was doing that a lady got in line behind me. At first she was just a little too close for my comfort, so I moved my cart up a little. She must have taken that as an invitation to scoot up with me. I couldn’t move up anymore, so I kept a close eye on her. Then she did the most unthinkable thing!!!!! She leaned on my cart. That’s right, her hands were almost touching my baby and her germy breath was in her face!!!!! I had to say something. I said excuse me, could you please get off my cart? She gave me the dirtiest look and mumbled something under her breath. I held my tongue because Elle was in the middle of us. What are people thinking? I wouldn’t lean on anyone’s cart if a baby wasn’t in there. As I bagged my groceries and laughed to myself…apparently I have issues in the grocery store…lol.

Tired Daddy

Well, I haven’t talked about Jared for a while in my posts. Probably because he has been so busy. I am writing this post to tell him how thankful I am for him, how much I love him, and how proud I am of him! He is a husband, father, full time working man, and full time PhD student!  He goes to work everyday and goes to school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On those days he gets home around 8ish. On days he only works he gets home around 6 or 7. So, his days are long and hard. Then when he gets home we eat dinner and at 8:30 he gives Elle a bath. Then he stays up until at least midnight (last night it was way later!) doing homework and studying. Then gets up every morning and does it again. I don’t know how he does it, but he does, and I am so proud of him! I am so thankful that he does this, because in the long run he is making Gabrielle and my life better.I can’t wait until he is Dr. Hartsock. 🙂 Life may be a little stressful and hard right now sweetheart, but I want you to know that I love you more than anything and couldn’t be more proud!

No cable, phone, or internet…OH MY!

The title of my blog was inspired by the Wizard of Oz, since it was on TBS this weekend. Last year I blogged about The Wizard of Oz, and how much I love watching it this time of year. Well, this year, I didn’t get to watch it. This is probably the first year in 15 (seriously) that I haven’t watched it. I didn’t get to watch it because of wonderful Charter. That’s right, all weekend all of my Charter services were out. That means that I didn’t have internet *gasp*, phone, or cable all weekend long!!! Seriously, I don’t know what people did without those services. I guess they cleaned. Because that is what I did all weekend. Even though I am upset about not watching The Wizard of Oz, my house does look nice. Seriously, you know the feeling of a clean house. It is wonderful. I feel great!

Baby, baby, and more baby

I guess when you become a mom, the things you used to like to talk about change. If you’ve had a conversation with me lately, it has consisted of baby things. Lots of baby things. I realize that I tend to ramble about baby things that people probably don’t care about,  because all of a sudden diaper rash, breast feeding, and what brand of diapers I like are fun to talk about.  So, my apologies if I have talked your ear about baby things when you just don’t care. I have a feeling it’s not going to change…

Here is a picture of Gabrielle I took today. She is getting so big (2 months), and even cuter by the day (if that’s even possible).
